Walking, Talking & Hat Grabbing

Hibernation season is over!! If you’re from the Midwest you all know what that means – the sun is out longer, the weather is amazing and literally everyone goes outside all the time. We are no different and have been spending our evenings and weekend days walking. We are lucky enough to live by a lake and a few parks and its been so much fun watching MK try new things like going down the slide (with me of course) and swinging. We have the City Mini stroller by Baby Jogger and love it. It’s easy to walk, run and works on all surfaces. It’s also lightweight enough to carry…

Weekend Uniform: Liquid Leggings

My weekend uniform consistently revolves around comfy basics: leggings, soft t-shirts, layers galore! Anything I can easily move around and chase after my babe in and also look presentable in public. These liquid leggings have been a CONSTANT in my closet rotation (probably too constant :). They are comfortable, stylish and for the price, cannot be beat! They also make me feel skinny – and really, sometimes thats all I need! Outfit details: Leggings; T-Shirt; Flannel – I always buy tall or boyfriend style so they are longer and cozier (similar & similar); shoes

Springtime Picnics

Spring is here! Spring is here! Although mother nature is kind of bipolar in Minnesota during the springtime months, we’ve had our share of sunshine thus far. We’ve also had a lot of rain, but only makes me enjoy the sunshine that much more! This is Madeline’s first spring and we are diving right in with all the springtime things. We’ve done the park, we’ve gone on countless walks to explore nature with her and we had our first picnic! Mike grilled and we played with her little picnic set. Madeline is amazed by the grass & bugs, the breeze, the squirrels & birds and waving at all the neighbors out…

Baby Essentials

Baby things! If you have been in the position or are in the position where you are expecting your first child, you KNOW the struggle with choosing all the right items for your new normal. The options are endless and every baby is different. Not to mention, a baby is expensive, man!  We of course, bought a ton of things because I needed it all, right?? Here are my winners and items that made the cut as the best items I purchased and would recommend. Mamaroo – this did not work for the first 4 weeks and we were so sad because we heard such great things and it was…

Katie Rose & MK: Faux Fur

Full disclosure: I love matching outfits with Madeline. I have no shame. We both had fur vests and green joggers, so i thought why not wear them at the same time right? Also, if you are looking for the perfect white t-shirt that is loose, yet fitted look no further. These cargo pants are making my life this spring as well! Katie: fur vest (similar and similar), joggers, white shirt Madeline: fur vest, cargo pants (similar)

Madeline’s Nursery

Madeline’s nursery was a project straight from our hearts. We spent so many hours brainstorming, pinteresting and coming up with the perfect room to welcome our baby girl into. Looking back, its funny because the only people who really see and hang out in the nursery are Mike and me, Madeline and her grandparents, but to us this was a special thing we could do together for our baby. We knew we were having a girl, but didn’t want to get TOO girly in decor, so we went with grey and white palate with pink accents. The overall theme was baby animals — trust me, my love for animals is…

Magical Forest Maternity Shoot

My maternity shoot with Mike & MK (bump style) is a moment I go back to often. Not only was it fun to get dressed up and prance around in the forest in a beautiful dress, it was also a time filled with love and joy and excitement for what’s to come. The day started out rainy and I was terrified we’d have to reschedule, but my AMAZING photographer (Athena Pelton) agreed to shoot that night even if it was rainy. The rain turned out to be a perfect prop for the shoot and in some photos you can see the rain drops. We celebrated afterwards with a slice of pie,…
