Summer Beauty Essentials

Summer is hands down my favorite season. The days are longer, the weather is warmer and everyone has a more laid-back casual aura about them. With summer comes an entirely new beauty routine though! My heavy foundation, darker eyeshadow and lipstick are replaced with sun-kissed BB creams and lip gloss. I also hate blow drying my hair in the summer (so hot!) so I switch up my hair routine to accommodate that. Here are a few of my must-have beauty items for the summer months! MAKEUP: DiorSnow BB Cream. When I find a good BB cream, I stick with it! This one is a miracle worker. Not only does it provide the…

Casual Friday: Bachelorette Party Themed!

My casual Friday post this week is in honor of one of my best friends from college’s bachelorette party this weekend!! It’s going to be a reunion for the books and I cannot wait to see the girls I spent 4 years learning the ropes with. There’s something to be said about those in your life who knew you before marriage and before kids while you were still young and carefree. I’ve learned so much from each and every one of the girls I’m going to see this weekend and share so many memories with them. Looking forward to making more memories as less cool adult versions of ourselves. 🙂…

Honey & Lace Los Osos Dress

Summer has arrived and that means my calendar is filled with bridal showers, baby showers, weddings and graduation parties! I’m always on the search for a fun, flirty and versatile dress to wear to these events. When I’m buying a dress I always look for fit, comfort, how cozy the fabric is and how versatile it fits with my lifestyle as a mama. My super short dress wearing days are behind me when half of my day is spent picking up my little girl! I do, however, like to still look stylish and put together. This flower delight dress from Honey & Lace fit the bill! It’s not only super flattering…

Midwest Beauty: The Arboretum

One of the many gifts MK has given us is the desire to explore our city and see all the things and learn from them. Seeing her in awe of the trees, flowers, animals, etc has really made us appreciate where we live. I wouldn’t say we were lazy pre-MK, we definitely were ALWAYS busy, but in different ways. We were never spending our time truly taking in the culture, beauty and history right where we live. MK is making us think in so many different ways and we are so grateful for her! This past weekend we took a day trip to the Arboretum. I had been a few…

Father’s Day Q/A with MK’…

Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing dads out there! I’ve always been incredibly lucky to have a dad who believed in me, encouraged me to follow my dreams and ends his “I love you” texts with far too many (but amazing) exclamation points. Now, I’m even luckier to watch my husband totally rock this daddy thing. MK’s face lights up when she sees him and watching them both give each other those huge life-like smiles is enough to make my heart burst. What a gift! I did a Q/A with Mike about his first 10 months as a daddy. He knows way more than he gives himself credit for…

Casual Friday: Long Gray Vest & Keyhole Tank

Friday, Friday, Friday! Welcome to the weekend everyone! Our weekend is filled with cleaning up our yard (a tree fell on our house this week during a storm – oye), going to the pool if it’s nice out and a few grad parties. It’s also Father’s Day! We’re so excited to celebrate Mike being a dad for the first year and all the cuddles, late night feedings, giggles and joy this year has brought us. He is one/third of our squad and we love him so much. These keyhole tanks were a steal – I snagged them at The Gap in many colors. Not only do I have a thing for…

Red Lace & Chambray

Do you ever wake up with the best of intentions to do your hair and then the alarm goes off and you are like, “yeahhhhhhh – I’ll choose sleep”?  Story of my life! However, I’m a big fan of a lace skirt and tied up chambray shirt so the photos happened! I love having pieces I can manipulate easily for the part of the day I’m in. I wore this outfit to work with the shirt tucked in and then when I got home and we wanted to hang outside, I untucked and tied it up to beat the heat and still try to remain a little stylish. Also, my…
