Bottle Feeding & Why It Works For Our …

This post is particularly close to my heart because there is so much unnecessary shame around how a mother chooses to feed her baby. Like it’s anyone else’s business right?! After I had Madeline I gave into the judgement from other moms for literally every little thing a mother could do. From how to soothe your baby (pacifiers/thumbs), baby wearing & co-sleeping to breast vs bottle feeding. It inevitably drove me into pretty intense postpartum anxiety. When I got pregnant with Calvin, I vowed I would NEVER let other people interfere with my sanity and parenting again. We would do what was best for our family. Which leads me to this…

Corduroy Jumper + Madeline’s Big Sister Skills

Hi friends, Happy Friday! We’ve had a rough week of colds in our house and I’m crossing my fingers we’re on the end of it. I’ve had it the worst, but that’s probably because I’ve subconsciously tried to take everyone’s sicknesses on myself. Nothing is worse than having sick young kids (especially when one is a newborn) and my husband sick…we don’t even want to go there. Guys, right? 🙂 We recently took a trip out to Seattle to visit my sister. We took the same trip last year and WOW what a difference a year makes! This year we added another child to the mix and Madeline was a…

My Hair Guide: Tools, Routine & Talent

Hi all! Some of my most asked questions are all around my hair, so I thought I’d put together an entire post on it. Honestly, I have such strong imposter syndrome that I am humbled even a few of you are curious about how I do my hair, however I also have an incredible group of stylists here that help as well as some key products. I have to give credit where credit is due! My Hair Squad Let’s start with the most important part – the lifesavers I refer to as my “hair squad.” If you are in the Minneapolis area, I highly recommend Haus Salon. I just started going…

Top 5 Favorite Postpartum Shapewear Items

Hi friends! I’m shredding my layers for this post (literally) and having some real talk about my bod. At times it may look like I’ve snapped back, but I can assure you it’s probably shapewear. Let’s be honest, it can be incredibly frustrating putting together a postpartum wardrobe. Essentially, you’re choosing from ALL your clothes: pre-pregnancy clothes that probably still don’t fit, maternity clothes that also probably don’t fit as well anymore and the clothes purchased FOR postpartum. It’s basically three separate wardrobes and it’s exhausting! Shapewear is something I always invest in though. In this post I’m sharing the top 5 items of shapewear I utilize for postpartum. Setting aside superficial…

Postpartum Series: Soothing a Newborn

I cannot believe little Cal is already 2 months old – wow does the time fly the second time around! He’s already growing so quickly and the newborn phase is going to be gone in the blink of an eye. However, that does not mean it doesn’t feel like a LONG time when you are in the thick of it. Soothing a newborn can be one of the toughest parts of newborn mom-hood. Every baby is different and just when you think you have it figured out, all of a sudden that doesn’t work anymore. We thought we’d be in the clear with Calvin because we’ve DONE it before with…

Recipe: 10 minute Pesto Pasta Salad

We just celebrated National Night Out in our neighborhood and we were tasked with bringing a dish to share. I whipped up my favorite, super easy, pesto pasta salad to bring! My mom has been making this for years and it’s a staple in our family. It’s so simple and so delicious. I made a separate batch for us to munch on all week. Madeline loves it as well so it’s toddler approved! Ingredients: (1) box of bowtie noodles (1) jar of pesto (1) container of shredded parmesan cheese (1) packet of pine nuts Directions: Step 1: Boil pasta and drain Step 2: Add in pesto & mix thourougly Step…
