Currently Loving: Top 10 Items For Mom’ing

Stages in mom-life tend to change with the seasons. As kids grow, especially when they are young, their interests and needs change SO quickly. Because of this mom’s have to switch gears and adapt almost instantaneously when their child(ren) move into the next phase. Currently, Calvin is 13 months old and Madeline is almost 3. It seems like in the last few months they have both dramatically gone through a leap mentally and physically. They are interested in new things, are more active and more independent. Because of the age gap, their needs are seemingly on opposite planets right now. 🙂 Therefore, I thought I’d round up my top 10…

Working Out Post Baby & My Favorite Athleisure …

Leggings // Workout Tank (similar) // Zip Up // Shoes // Sunglasses Working out. We either love it or we hate right? Pre-baby I was adamant about working out at least 4 times a week for mostly superficial reasons. I wasn’t thinking about the future, I was living in the present. Post-baby I workout for a much different reason. I want to live longer for my kiddos and I want to be in good enough shape to always run around with them. My Post-Baby Workout Journey After MK, my almost 3 year old, getting back into the saddle wasn’t too difficult. My pregnancy was relatively easy and after I got…

He’s One.

How in the world is my little buddy officially ONE?! This year flew by for me. I’m not sure if it’s just getting older or the pure insanity that is having two kids under two, but wow it went fast. Our life changed in an instant the day Calvin was born and it brings me to tears even talking about it (yes, I’m that mom now). The tears were not sad and this is not a tragic story, but one of the pure unconditional love. Growing up I was never bound and determined to have a ton of kids. Sure, I knew I always wanted to be a mom but…

Calvin’s 11 Month Update

Calvin is almost a one year old! I can’t even begin to describe how quickly this year has gone. I thought it went fast with Madeline, however this seemed like that in overdrive. It’s amazing how fast time can go when your arms and heart are FULL nonstop. 🙂 Calvin is still the happiest and joyful baby. He smiles with his eyes and feels SO much (just like his mom). He’s wild and moves nonstop but he’s also as sweet as can be. Cal pal loves when his sister pays him ANY attention and the two of them are actually starting to play together and it has been truly amazing…

Tips For Surviving Solo When Your Spouse …

Those of you who know me well or have been following along with me for the past few years likely know that my husband often travels for work. The time away can be anywhere from 2 days to 6 weeks (wuff training camp). This week, most recently, Mike was gone for the week so I was flying solo. Side note – I know the sensitivities out there around calling this “single parenting” and I have to say I completely understand. When Mike is away he calls, we Facetime and I KNOW he is coming back eventually (that mental strength). It’s freaking hard to do it alone for that period of…

Postpartum Swimsuit Confidence

Postpartum body confidence, for me, has many layers and is a bit of a roller coaster. After having two babies within two years it’s no surprise that my body has most definitely changed. It’s changed in many ways, not just physical, and it’s a journey to get back to where I was or my new normal because why think about going backward when the only way to go is forwards. Baby number 2 is now 10 months old and I’d be lying if I said I am 100% confident in my own skin. I’m getting there but there are also a few things I know about myself from baby number…

Favorite Baby Toys for 9 Month Olds

Happy weekend! We’re spending it hibernating inside as the rumor of a giant snowstorm is quickly approaching (we’ll see). During nap time, I thought I’d write a post of our favorite toys for Calvin at 9 months. If your baby is like mine, EVERYTHING goes right to the mouth. Darn teeth. Therefore, many of the items I am sharing work both for teething as well as for entertainment. One thing to note is that Calvin LOVES toys. Madeline on the other hand, wasn’t interested. This goes to show how different each baby is. The list I have below are the ones that have worked across both of my babes (some…
