Calvin is almost a one year old!
I can’t even begin to describe how quickly this year has gone. I thought it went fast with Madeline, however this seemed like that in overdrive. It’s amazing how fast time can go when your arms and heart are FULL nonstop. 🙂
Calvin is still the happiest and joyful baby. He smiles with his eyes and feels SO much (just like his mom). He’s wild and moves nonstop but he’s also as sweet as can be. Cal pal loves when his sister pays him ANY attention and the two of them are actually starting to play together and it has been truly amazing to see that bond form so early.
What Calvin’s Up To
Likes: Climbing the stairs, eating ALL THE FOOD, tickles, his pacifiers (all 3), cuddling with mom, Madeline and anything she does, cars + trucks, toys that shake or make noise, being outside and going for walks, playing peekaboo and the water.
Dislikes: The time it takes from putting food in a spoon and getting it in his mouth, changing his diaper and when anything is taken away from him (he’s developing a bit of a temper)!
Milestones: SO close to walking – just needs to let go, 2 teeth, phasing out bottles in lightening speed and is down to two naps a day.
- 7:00 am: Up for the day // has first bottle
- 7:30 am: Breakfast (real food)
- 9:30 am: Nap number 1 (1-1.5 hours)
- 11:00 am: Bottle number 2
- 12:00 pm: Lunch (real food)
- 1:30 pm: Nap number 2 (2 hours)
- 4:00 pm: Bottle number 3
- 5:00 pm: Dinner (real food)
- 6:30 pm: Bedtime routine & bottle number 4
- 7:00 pm: Down for the night
Favorite foods: Macaroni & Cheese, Lunch Meat (turkey mostly), Cheese slices, Pasta, Blueberries, Strawberries, Bananas, Bread. He eats pretty much anything we give him!!
What Mom’s Up To
How Mom’s Doing (emotionally): I’m very emotional about the one year mark and have major baby fever even though we have already decided we are stopping at 2. The solid hours of sleep are returning and life is getting back to normal which is great but also a little sad for me! For those that know, I suffered from PP anxiety with both of my kids and it’s seemingly worse with Cal. I panic when I’m away from both of them and even when I’m in small spaces. Working on getting some help for that!
How Mom’s Doing (physically): My ab muscles have not recovered since Cal and my doctor explained that having babies in such of a short period of time can often have strange effects on your body. My physical therapist recommended I start on pilates 2 times/week to regain that strength in a gentle way so that’s what I’m doing! I’m very excited to start this journey and feel strong again so I can venture into other exercises before I know it. Additionally, I have some major digestion issues but I’m still working through the causes of that and will inform y’all once I know more!
All in all we are happy over here & are looking forward to having a ONE year old and THREE year old this summer!
