Styling a Kimono

Styling a Kimono

Outfit details: Kimono // Jean Shorts // T-Shirt // Sandals

Happy Monday! Hope you all had a great weekend. It’s always hard to come back but part of me really loves a fresh new week. Anyone else with me?

I’ve been very into the kimono trend as of lately and thought I’d share how I typically style it. Kimono’s can be worn SO many ways – dressed up or dressed down – but I typically go for using it to dress up a casual outfit. So, right in the middle. ๐Ÿ™‚

My go-to outfit

My go-to kimono outfit this summer has been to pair it with jean shorts (these are my FAVORITE and they are oh so affordable) and a white tank or t-shirt. I think it dresses it up and also adds a bit of your personality to it. It can cover that booty a bit too which helps as a mom needing to constantly bend over and get the kids. ๐Ÿ™‚

Trade in your sweater

It’s also a great trade for a cardigan in the winter if you want to feel a bit more covered but need something more lightweight.

Beware of robes

One area that you need to be thoughtful on is to ensure that it doesn’t look too much like lingerie or a robe. Some can push too far! I’ve rounded up some of my favorites below along with jean shorts and t-shirts. As always, I try to keep things under $100 unless I know they are really worth it!

In all seriousness, the jean shorts and t-shirt I have on in this outfit are hands down two of my closet staples. I wear them SO MUCH. If you are in need of a comfortable pair of high waist jean shorts (at an appropriate length) for under $70 these are so worth it. I’ve also talked about this t-shirt before but it’s a good one!
